i need a new watch
I first saw this buckle watch by Patricia Urquiola for Alessi while browsing on MoMA Design Store and really like it a lot, but not sure about the red. I googled it and voila! It comes in other colours too, white and black. I love the white one ! The battery-operated buckle watch features a leather strap, a steel case, and a mineral crystal dial. The dial features two, distinctly diverse, hour/minute hands to add interest, and sensibly, there is no 12, just a zero. A clever strap design makes for easy on/off with a simple, thread-through and snap-in-place design. Price at $130 with free shipping from lumens
The designer, Patricia Urquiola, (1961) was born in Oviedo ( Spain ) and now lives and works in Milan in the field of design, exhibitions, art direction, and architecture. She has created some interesting pieces of furniture shown;
‘antibodi’ chaise longue for moroso, 2006;
‘clip’ bed for molteni, 2003
‘flower’ armchair, design by vico magistretti with patricia urquiola for depadova, 1996
